Preschool-G Carving out a slightly more specialized niche in the perennially popular genre of firefighting books, this colorful volume emphasizes clothing, equipment, and tools. Each double-page spread in the volume's main section carries two or three sentences on a brightly colored background. Occasionally, a question appears there as well, intended to spark critical thinking in the book's audience. On the facing page is a color photo featuring a firefighter or their equipment. The pictures include a bit of racial and gender diversity. While the book is rather short, the nine full-page photos are large enough for group sharing. The appended Firefighter Tools page and glossary reinforce terminology.
